Why You Should Think About Building New in Established Neighborhoods and Communities

November 23, 2021

At Weston Dean Custom Homes, we build homes where you want to live, whether that’s in an urban or rural lot, on a lot that you already own or on a lot that we help you pick out. Everyone’s path to their perfect home location is different—you don’t always have to have the first home in a new community to be able to build the dream home you’ve always envisioned. Whether you want to look at building your home in an established neighborhood or take the time to browse a few newer communities, here are a few things you’ll want to keep in mind.

Building last in a new home community

Being one of the first people to build a home on a new community site does ensure that you get the exact lot you want, but there are many benefits to waiting to buy a lot in a new community.

First, when the majority of the lots are already bought, you know the community is highly sought after. This could be due to the location, the amenities, the quality of homes or all three. There’s also a higher chance that when your home is finished and you’re ready to move in, you won’t be living in a construction zone if your home was one of the last ones built—saving you the hassle of getting in and out of your neighborhood and the inevitable headaches that accompany it. Likewise, the community's HOA would already be fully established by the time the last few home lots were selling and you could easily figure out exactly how that would benefit you or if you wanted to look elsewhere.

Building new in an older neighborhood

One of our favorite aspects about our job is that we’re able to make sure our homeowners are unquestionably happy with the custom home we create for them. The location of that home plays an important role in that overall feeling, and that’s why we have a great build on your lot program to ensure that your home is built exactly where you want it.

We love building in the Texas Hill Country because the area is already filled with incredible homes both old and new, and the natural surroundings help inspire our team of professionals to create homes designed especially for our clients that complement the location. When you walk past an older neighborhood, a certain nostalgic feeling may come to your mind. There could be a corner lot home that looks similar to the one you grew up in or you might find yourself smiling each time you walk through a particular street that is decorated for Christmas. Building your own custom home in a neighborhood that has years of life behind it can sometimes be exactly what you’re looking for.

Wherever you want build—we’re here to help

At Weston Dean Custom Homes, we build what you want—it’s as easy as that. The design of your home is important, but never forget to look into the location as it can be the icing on top of your future forever home.

If you want to take a look through some of the communities we love to build in, you won’t be disappointed in what you find. Each of our homes is tailored especially to meet the needs and dreams of our clients, and we can’t wait to do the same for you. Give us a call at (210) 408-9107 or contact us online today.
