Why Build in Bulverde?

Just a half-hour drive north of San Antonio lies the small, historical town of Bulverde, Texas. This tight-knit community of around 5,000 residents offers a slower pace of life that many have come to love about the hill country. Small-town history 

Nicknamed “The Front Porch of the Texas Hill Country”, Bulverde was settled in 1850 by German immigrants, similar to nearby New Braunfels. Originally named Pieper Settlement after one of its settlers, the town was eventually renamed after Luciano Bulverdo, an early landowner who operated the first official local post office. After decades of unincorporation, five separate municipalities were incorporated and combined to form the City of Bulverde in 1999. 

Close-knit living 

Over the years, Bulverde has become a popular place to live for retirees from Texas and across the country. The quaint atmosphere, paired with easy access to amenities in nearby towns and a few within city limits, make it the perfect place to buy a home when you’re looking for an escape from the hustle and bustle of city living. 

However, a highly-rated school district always makes Bulverde a great place to raise a growing family. Giving children the small-town experience growing up will teach them to appreciate family, friends, neighbors and all of the natural beauty that surrounds them. 

Speaking of natural beauty, only 18 miles away is Guadalupe River State Park—featuring four miles of river frontage perfect for canoeing, fishing, swimming and tubing. A weekend camping getaway is always in the cards, and you can even take your horse or mountain bike on the 5.3-mile equestrian trail. There are also 13 miles of hiking trails to explore.
