At Weston Dean Custom Homes, the exterior design and interior architectural elements in each of our home builds are just one piece of the puzzle when it comes to creating the perfect home for you—and how you design the interior of your home plays a large role in bringing about the full picture. With the summer season still upon us, our team wanted to share some of our favorite summer interior design tips that you can start incorporating into your own home today.
The summer months are all about exciting and vibrant colors, but sometimes it can be a little scary to add these types of colors into the mix when it comes to your home design. While adding in new paint colors throughout your home is always a great option when you want to switch up the look of your home without spending too much money in the process, sometimes painting an entire room in your home can feel a little too intimidating. Start by either painting an accent wall, or concentrate your painting efforts on smaller pieces such as your wall trim or cabinets to ease your way into this particular design style.
The main thought when it comes to trends is that they won’t be around for long—one trend in particular that shuts this rumor down, though, is blending both the interior and exterior living space design. Over the past few years, our outdoor space has become even more important to us, and there are a number of ways to create a seamless look that blends your outdoor and indoor living spaces.
One easy way to accomplish this is by adding in a variety of plants to your home—automatically brightening up any room. You can also tie in this trend to your interior design by bringing some textures you would normally have in your outdoor space (such as jute rugs) into your interior space to create an inviting and relaxing indoor oasis.
If you’re trying to bring a summer feeling into your home design, one easy way to do that is to bring in beach elements. This can easily be done by incorporating a few well-chosen paint tones throughout your home with warm yellows, calm blues or vibrant greens. These specific colors can easily be placed throughout your interior decor as well like your pillows, rugs or picture frames to easily elevate your space this summer. If you’re set on taking it up a notch, however, the wallpaper trend has been rapidly growing—giving you plenty of options to choose from to create your ideal summer oasis in your Weston Dean Custom Home.
