: Baking soda is a wonderful natural way to rid any odors that may be lingering in your refrigerator or freezer. Place an opened box of baking soda in the location of the odor and you will be amazed at how quickly the smell goes away. It is a great idea to keep an open box of baking soda in your fridge or freezer as a staple, and replace every 3 months.
Bring silver back to life:
If you have silverware or silver items in your home that need a refresh, make a paste of three parts baking soda to one part water. Use the paste to rub onto your silver and rinse with warm water after giving a warm scrubbing. Dry off each piece before storing.
You can clean any surface throughout your home with a sprinkle of baking soda and a damp cloth. Add more baking soda for more of a paste like cleaning mixture, and watch dirt and grime wipe away with your clean cloth. Wash off the surface with clean water when done, to remove all baking soda residue.
Removal of scuffmarks:
If you have pesky scuffmarks on your floors, baking soda can quickly make those unsightly marks go away. If you have wood, linoleum or tile floors, sprinkle some baking soda over the scuff marks and wipe away with a damp cloth. Magically, your scuff marks will disappear!
If you have kids or pets that have made a mess on your furniture, you don’t have to live with stains forever. Take ¼ cup baking soda and mix it with 1 quart warm water. Rub this mixture onto your furniture and rinse with a hose to remove the paste mixture. You will be left with furniture that is like new!
Buy in bulk! With all the ways that you can use baking soda in your home, consider a trip to Sam’s Club or Costco to stock up on baking soda for all the cleaning purposes in your home. Baking soda doesn’t spoil, so it is something you can buy in bulk and store for a long time. Time will not weaken the potency of the powder.
