San Antonio was founded by Spanish explorers in 1718. Much of the city’s history can be felt today through places like the legendary Alamo. The Alamo is a symbol of Texan pride, and it attracts millions of visitors every year. The culture in San Antonio has a number of influences. Hispanic and German heritages helped shape the city, its food, and its people. Cowboy culture has its roots in San Antonio, and rodeos in San Antonio are a massive attraction today.

Or they can choose one of the many private universities, such as Trinity University, Incarnate Word, or Webster University.

The job market in San Antonio has grown at a higher rate than most cities in Texas in the past few years. Some of the largest industries include manufacturing, renewable energy, and defense. Since its earliest days, San Antonio has kept a close relationship with the military and is sometimes referred to as “Military Town USA”. The city is home to a number of military bases, and thousands of military families. 

Fun in San Antonio

San Antonio is also a fun city to shop in. You’d expect a city the size of San Antonio to have a great selection of major retailers and malls, and it certainly does. But San Antonio also has a trove of vintage stores and local boutiques. The shopping in San Antonio contributes to a relaxing and enjoyable way of life. 

There is more to San Antonio than shopping, however. Venture out to Six Flags, SeaWorld, or the San Antonio Zoo. Or catch a game at the AT&T Center, home court of the San Antonio Spurs.
