If you’re already purchased a new Weston Dean Custom home or are currently looking at New Braunfels custom builders
to build your new home, it is probably one of the most exciting times in your life. Buying and moving into a new home is always fun, however if you chose the wrong moving company it can easily turn into a nightmare. A recent U.S. News article drew up some of the red flags you will want to watch out for when selecting a moving company for your big move.
Over 38.7 million Americans move each year. That doesn’t mean that each of them chooses a good moving company, or has a good moving experience. There are many unlicensed movers and enterprises that either intend to con you- or are too disorganized an inexperienced to offer you a good move.
So what is the best way to know if you are choosing a quality moving company when it comes time to move? These tips below will be the red flags you want to look for when making your selection.
Red flag number one- The price is much lower that the local competition. Everyone wants a deal but you can’t go the cheapest route when it comes to selecting your moving company. While finding an affordable mover doesn’t mean you will be scammed, if you feel like a deal is too good to be true it most likely is.
Red flag number two- The deposit is too high. Although it isn’t abnormal for a moving company to ask for a deposit fee, it is abnormal for it to be a high fee. No fee should be above 10 percent of the total job cost. If you get a quote that asks for over 10 percent of the total cost, be wary.
Red flag number three- You don’t know and cant find much online about the company. Just like it is with too cheap of pricing, if you cant find much online or have no reviews to go off of, you don’t know anything about the company you are potentially hiring and that is cause for concern as well as a big risk.
Checking for these three simple red flags and keeping them in mind can keep you from getting the wool pulled over your eyes when it comes to bad movers.
